Simeco’s TR-TRD screens with are used for solid-liquid separation for high flow rate and combine two operations: filtration and compacting.
They feature a screen basket, perforated sheet or wedge wire, that rotates and acts as a filter, and a transport screw followed by the transport section that ends with a compacting & dewatering modulus that can be provided with a chute or a bagging system.
Screenings are conveyed by a shafted screw until the compacting and dewatering section where both the volume and the weight are reduced (up to 40%).
The machine is usually placed inside a channel of suitable width, but may be placed inside a receiving tank.
The two models are very similar in terms of operating principle, but are different in terms of design features:
Simeco’s TR: is a rotary drum screen where the drum and the shafted screw are driven by the same shaft, directly connected to the gear reducer. This is the best arrangement for small to medium size of rotating drum screen.
Simeco’s TR-D model features a double drive system: one system for the drum and one separated drive for the spiral conveyor.
This is helpful when the machine’s size is big: in such case the drum has to rotate slower than the spiral conveyor and so the best arrangement is by two separated drives. Another plus is the possibility to reduce the overall absorbed power, as well as the overall weight of the unit.
Main Features of TR-TRD screens are:
• Screw: stainless steel AISI 304 / 316
• Structure: stainless steel AISI 304 / 316
• Length: the total length may be varied to meet the plant lay-out specifications
• Trough Protection: bolted stainless steel wearing bars
• Screen Basket: perforated plate or wedge wire screen
• Screen Basket Cleaning: bolted brushes and spray nozzles
Upon request the unit can be supplied provided with a control panel, which can be electromechanical or PLC controlled.
Fields of Application:
• Municipal wastewater
• Industrial plants
